The Department of Ophthalmology is fully equipped with modern systems to treat various eye diseases and is upgraded regularly to match all recent advances in the subject.

Corneal diseases can be diagnosed and treated with the support of sophisticated laboratory facilities. The Eye bank of the hospital supplies donor eyes for corneal transplants which are being done regularly.
Cataract surgery and lens implants are being done regularly, both with phacoemulsification and without it. Sutureless surgeries are done regularly and the patient’s post-operative morbidity is minimal. Vitreo-retinal diseases are treated regularly by the hospital’s vitreoretinal surgeons. Various types of orbital diseases and ocular trauma are also treated successfully. The department recently added an optometry and contact lens clinic, which provide the long felt needs of dispensing glasses and contact lenses to patients in need of them.
