Dr. Dhanesh Kamerkar

Dr. Dhanesh Kamerkar held a keen interest in Vascular surgery during his surgical residency, but soon realised that it was a primitive and preliminary stage of vascular surgery. He received his vascular surgery training from tertiary referral centre in Belfast, Northern Island at Royal Victoria Hospital till 1997. Initially, the status of vascular surgery was purely open surgery and as things evolved internationally, Vascular Society ventured into endovascular arena in mid 2005-2006. He has since been practising a good mixture of Open surgeries and Endovascular practices. Soon, he started performing hybrid surgeries too.

Later, he started Dr NB Vascular and Endovascular Super Speciality training programme at Ruby Hall Clinic, Pune. Along with his colleagues he also went on to start VESSOMAG (Vascular and Endovascular Surgeons of Maharashtra and Goa) to create awareness about vascular diseases and its treatments. He is the President of VESSOMAG and has been a member & surgical fellow of Vascular Society of India. He has also hosted 2 National Conferences in Pune.
