Stoma Clinic
Numerous patients have undergone ostomy surgery, which is a procedure that alters their normal elimination process. Abdominal Stomas help treat a range of traumatic, inflammatory, congenital, and malignant conditions. The enterostomal therapist (ET) offers direct patient care to individuals with abdominal stomas, fistulas, draining wounds, and incontinence.
- An ET can make a significant difference in an ostomate’s life, especially if the ostomate is experiencing extreme stress or depression.
- With care, resuming regular activities and regaining self-esteem is also possible for the patient.
- Technological advancements in prosthetic devices, surgical techniques, and specialised stoma care, including the five phases of ostomy rehabilitation, have significantly improved the quality of life for ostomates.
- Pre-operative phase: psychological preparation.
- Recuperative phase: post operative care, fixing of stoma appliance.

Clinical Trials And Research
Ruby Hall Clinic has a full-fledged Clinical Research Department with a dedicated team. It has its own Ethics Committee overlooking the entire process of clinical research from the right perspective.
- Several principal investigators are running Phase II, III, and IV clinical trials. Dr. S. Karandikar, Dr. Minish Jain, Dr. Sanjay Deshmukh, Dr. Sujai Hegde and most consultants are PIs for several randomised trials.

Support Services
Patients with breast cancer are invited to attend the Breast Care Support Group, which meets at 3 p.m. on the second Saturday of each month.
- The primary goal of the Breast Care Support Group is to provide patients and their families with easy access to pre- and post-treatment information about breast cancer as well as to inspire them by connecting them with survivors.
- The Stoma Support Group meetings are held at 3 p.m. on the second Saturday of every other month. In these meetings, the group prefers to have discussions with doctors regarding queries about their stoma.
- The Family Support Group meeting is held on the 4th Saturday of every month. This group is mostly for family members of cancer patients.
- These meetings address issues of patient care with the family and also discuss the importance of the psychological well-being of the family members.
