Radiology services are focused on early diagnosis, detection and assist in accurate therapy for all disease profiles from simple fever to complex cancers. The imaging pathways are customised to favour the safest use of radiation, contrast and matched with the highest accuracy of diagnostic acumen.

The radiology is a recognised postgraduate teaching and academic facility. The department of imaging services has the latest radiology diagnostic equipment in the form of 3T MRI scanner, 128 Detector row CT with capabilities of performing high-end Coronary CT Angiographies and ultra-fast low radiation CT scans. The unit has 8 Ultrasound Color doppler units for routine, Emergency, specialised and intraoperative sonography X-rays are performed on the high tech Digital Radiography systems which are fully robotic and computerised with motion sensors for the patient motion to keep the unit hazard-free.

The Portable Mobile Units in Critical care units are fully digital and wi-fi enabled and connected to the hospital network for instant viewing of x-rays. Do’s & Donts for your Appointment

MRI APPOINTMENTS
  • Please bring your all previous radiology X-Ray, Ultrasound, CT, MRI, blood reports and films / CD along with Doctor’s prescription for study
  • The patient can eat drink and take medicines before the scan. No prior fasting is required except for MRI abdomen and MRCP (2 hours fasting is required).
  • The patient must be accompanied by an attendant for the scan.
  • Please inform if you have any of the following condition (s) to the Radiologist / MRI Technician:
    a) Pacemaker
    b) Cerebral aneurysm clips
    c) Cochlear implant
    d) Metallic impact
    e) Foreign body or infusion pumps
    f) Tattoo/ Permanent make up/ Body piercing
    g) Neurostimulator
    h) Any kind of ferromagnetic material in body including dentures
    i) Cardiac implants like an intra-aortic pump, pacing leads, value implants, etc.
    j) Vascular stents
    k) Chronic kidney disease, in case of contrast study
  • Please do not bring any “METALLIC” items (like jewelry, key chains, pens, coins, metallic belts, etc.) for the appointment.

    a) Preferably nil by mouth for 4 hours before the appointment but not compulsory
    b) To drink 2-3 glasses of water 2 hours prior to appointment and to come with a full bladder. You can drink water after coming to the hospital for full bladder.
  • Obstetrics / Gynecology Ultrasound:
    a) To drink 2-3 glasses of water 2 hours prior to appointment and to come with a full bladder. You can drink water after coming to the hospital for full bladder.
    b) For pregnant & suspected pregnancy, prescription of doctor with stamp and signature in original is MUST as per the government guidelines.

MAMMOGRAPHY APPOINTMENT

CT SCAN APPOINTMENT

  • 4 hours fasting is required for contrast scan. Patient can take routine medicine (s) as per their schedule and can drink plain water also during fasting.
  • The patient must be accompanied by an attendant for the scan.
  • Normal serum creatinine report is must for contrast study.
  • Please inform, if patient is pregnant. Radiation is hazardous to the pregnant female and fetus.
  • Please inform to the radiologist or the radiology technician, if there is any history of contrast allergy, any drug allergy, or asthma.
  • Appointments would be adhered to as far as possible. However, emergency patients may have to be taken in between and you are requested to bear with us in the eventuality.

Conventional And Procedural Radiology

Radiology department has recently installed state of the art digital radiology equipment, The DRX Shimadzu Aero DR. This equipment has a 35x43cm detector and is Wifi enabled. The Digital Radiography(DR) unit has the potential of viewing in X-ray image within 5 sec of exposure.

The department is also equipped with 200 MA high-frequency X-ray Unit. In addition, it has 1 portable DR unit with display monitor to view the exposed image on the spot. Radiology department of Ruby Hall Clinic has computerized radiography with an installation of CR 800 installed in the hospital with seamless integration of diagnostic imaging. All radiology printing is done on DRYVIEW laser cameras. These are high quality, high-speed laser imagers with environmental friendly footprint.

Women’s Imaging

This section is run by our lady consultant radiologists and is equipped with high-resolution Ultrasound, state of the art Mammography unit. MR mammography facilities are also available in the Main centre. All Ultrasonography and mammography guided procedures for breast is performed in the unit.

Ultrasonography And Color Doppler

This division provides a comprehensive range of procedures, whole body sonography, biopsy, drainage and other USG guided procedures in the department. The unit has high-resolution probes with facilities of Transvaginal, Transrectal and superficial soft tissue as well as musculoskeletal USG. Portable and intraoperative ultrasonography is also provided for an Intensive care unit and Trauma patient as well as for intraoperative purpose. The department of ultrasonography and color Doppler has a high-frequency probe for arterial and venous color doppler facilities for Inpatient and Outpatient.

CT Scan Division

The hospital is equipped with a high-resolution multislice CT scanner (Siemens Somatom Scope). This Siemens Somatom Scope is a 32 slice spiral CT scanner with UFC detector efficiency higher by 10% and CARE dose 4D to reduce exposure up to 68%. It routinely performs whole body CT scans. All CT guided drainage procedures, biopsy and intervention is performed in the department.
